REECE NZ BATHROOM LIFE

REECE NZ BATHROOM LIFE

Bathrooms are often some of the smallest spaces in a house but also some of the most important. Designing a great bathroom involves more than just selecting a few plumbing products: functionality, liveability and style are also important elements to consider. Maddren spoke with Ruth Ansell from Reece to find out about a useful tool Reece have developed to help people plan their bathrooms and to get some tips on how to create a bathroom you will truly enjoy.

M: Can you tell us a little about the 3D bathroom planner you have on your website? What’s the idea behind it and how it could help our clients in their decision making?

R: Often when people are looking at bathroom ideas they can get a little lost because there are so many options and inspirations out there to choose from. Ideas can go round and round in their heads without them being able to visualise the whole and decide whether ideas are conflicting, and this can sometimes lead them creating a bathroom that they don’t love. Reece want their clients to avoid that and create a bathroom they can enjoy for many years to come.

This is why we developed our online 3D planner, Imagin3D. With Imagin3D clients can bring their bathroom visions to life. The user can quickly play around with a whole bunch of ideas without incurring any cost. With the space and products all scaled to dimension and the ability to virtually finish the bathroom with tiles, texture walls and windows placements, it helps the user to finalise their bathroom decisions with much more confidence. And if they have some wild ideas, they can safely test those out as well, to see if the result is what they imagined it would be.

M: The bathroom is a very special space in a home isn’t it? For many people it is their sanctuary and plays an significant role in their physical and mental well-being.

R: Yes, especially after lockdown! Many people changed their habits and tend to spend more time at home. Research shows the value of the bathroom is increasing. A well-designed bathroom is in high demand and can also increase the resale value of the house.

M: Is the 3D planner easy to use?

R: Absolutely! It is designed to feel like a computer game. The user can move and rotate objects around with ease, add and delete products anytime, and view the space from different perspectives. It is a collaborative platform, which means the user can share the designs with anyone. Most clients will share the link with our consultant, so we can help to review and provide comments. Once the selection is confirmed, we can create the product schedule accordingly.

M: Can you tell me more about how your team can assist our clients with product selection?

R: Here at the Reece showroom we have a team of dedicated bathroom specialists, equipped with the professional skills and knowledge to bring a client’s vision to life. We have massive cupboards with a huge variety of products available for homeowner to touch and feel. Our consultant will then sit down and work through their ideas over a cup of coffee. Our showroom is designed to allow clients to relax and explore, but it doesn’t stop there. We support clients throughout their entire design journey, and can help them to refine ideas to achieve what they have in mind. This is a free service and we encourage anyone who is working on a build project to visit our show room at the planning stage to discuss their options.

M: What sort of product range does Reece offer?

R: We provide full consultation for foreign and local brands. From our show room we have access to a lot of different products with no limits tying you down to certain suppliers. Clients can mix and match to suit their requirements and their budget. We have product ranges from entry level to luxury, so there is something for everyone.

M: How does Reece determine which products to introduce, considering that not all products are suitable for the New Zealand market?

R: When bringing in new products we always start by attending a trade fair, as well as conducting product and market research. Trends can sometimes be very aggressive and adventurous and those may not fit our local market. After research is completed we work with both local and overseas manufacturers to bring the most appropriate products to New Zealand. At Reece we also make sure people are getting the best value with a simpler supply chain, and all our exclusive products are independently tested and backed by our warranty.
